Respect and include people with disabilities

My Perspective

When Perry was asked what the ‘Look Me in The Eye’ program means to him, he gave a big smile and said ‘Good. I am Perry. Look Me in the Eye.’  If you follow that advice, you will see beyond disabilities, and see the talents and personality traits that make him Perry. You will learn that he lives on his own and enjoys swimming, dancing, camping, painting and going to the movies. He has a job detailing cars for Oregon Supported Living Program, and you can see many of his paintings in galleries and art exhibitions in and around Eugene.

‘I march in parade and wave at people.’ Perry refers to the Eugene Celebration Parade as one of his favorite Look Me in the Eye activities he takes part in. Look for us next time waving banners and showing our pride for this campaign, and be sure to wave at Perry.
